MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL

The Lady Dutchmen's season ended with a 4-1 loss in the playoffs to Staples-Motely at Staples. Melrose fell behind 4-0 by the four inning as Megan Vetsch struck out 11 in the seven-inning game.  Melrose had six hits in the game for six different players. Nikki Zierden double and had an RBI. Kayla Austing scored the team's run in the fifth inning.  Morgan Notch did not walk anyone, but was charged with the loss.
