Lady Dutchmen Gymanstics
The Lady Dutchmen gymnastics team is heading back to state after winning the Section 6A meet Saturday in Willmar. Melrose scored 149.175 and as a team finished first in all routines.
Individual finishes were as follows. An asterisk indicates the gymnast will compete in the state individual meet on Saturday.

Prairie Centre Hockey
Prairie Centre defeated Breckenridge/Wahpeton 3-1 Saturday night. Daniel Thompson, Petr Erhart and Hunter Fletcher scored for the North Stars. They next play Tuesday against. St. Cloud Cathedra.l.
SCM Wrestling
 SCM defeated Fosston Bagley 54-14, but fell  63-9 to Perham in the Section 8AA team wrestling tournament.
Dutchmen Basketball
The Dutchmen moved to 23-0 with a 70-56 win over Montevideo Friday. Brady Birch had 26 points and Dillon Haider had 18.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Cassie Klaphake was determined to take the ball to the basket in the Lady Dutchmen’s game with MACA Thursday night. Klaphake finished with 11 points, but  the Lady Dutchmen fell 51-47 to MACA. Melrose trailed by 10 at one point in the second half. Video can be seen at https://youtu.be/yqQJ7EpBClw

Praire Centre Hockey
Prairie Centre North Stars (9-15-1) will host a Section 6A playoff game with Breckenridge-Wahpeton (8-11-0) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Sauk Centre.

Dutchmen Basketball

Despite being surrounded by MACA defenders, Justin Middendorf found his way to the basket to score, drawing fouls and picking up rebounds.  The Dutchmen had to battle back from a seven point deficit in the second half to post their 22nd win of the year.
Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Albany topped the Lady Dutchmen 60-34 Tuesday night. Cassie Klaphake’ 16 points led the Lady Dutchmen. She had four three pointers.
On Monday Osakis’ height gave them an advantage in the 81-34 win over Melrose.  Maci Blommel scored 13 to lead the Melrose.
Prairie Centre North Stars Hockey
Prairie Centre downed Redwood Valley 5-2 on Monday. Goals by Noah Fletcher, Petr Erhart and Hunter Fletcher put the North Stars up 3-1. In the third period Hunter Fletcher and Brady Miller added goals.  Jesse Gould had 26 saves in the game.

Dutchmen Basketball
The Dutchmen Basketball team moved to 21-0 on in the year with a 68-53 win over Sauk Centre this evening. Leading the Dutchmen were: Dillon Haider-18, Brady Birch-14, Hunter Rieland-12, Francisco Cervantes-10, Melrose rallied from an 8-0 early game deficit to take 29-22 half-time lead.
SCM Wrestling
Sam Sjogren’s pin in the 285 match game SCM a 36-34 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Friday night at Bemidji. Sjorgren also had a pin in the 54-15 loss to Forest Lake. SCM also fell 51-15 to Bemijdi. Also picking up pins on the night were Nate Loxtercamp, and Roberto Raya. Jordan Winter finished unbeaten on the night.
 SCM fell 37-26 to Paynesville Thursday night. SCM had a pin by Roberto Raya at 195. Antonio Ortiz (106) posted a 17-1 technical fall. Winning by decision were Larazo Garcia (113), Nathan Loxtercamp (132), Jordan Winter (138), Karter Wensman (145) and Luke Glasener (152).
North Star Hockey
Prairie Centre fell 10-1 to Mora-Milaca at Sauk Centre Friday night. Noah Fletcher scored the lone North Star goal. Prairie Centre score three goals in the second period to all but ice their 6-2 win over Morris/Benson Area Thursday night.  Leading offense was Noah Fletcher with two goals and Daniel Thompson, Brady Miller, Seth Deters and Isaac Cebulla with one goal each.  Petr Ehart assisted on three goals Hunter Fletcher on two goals. Logan Schmitz Thompson, Noah Fletcher and Will Koetters also had assists. Goalie Isaiah DeFoe had 18 stops in the game. Prairie Centre had 55 shots on goal.
Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Melrose had a fine night defensively posting a 45-20 win over Benson Thursday.  The Lady Dutchmen dominated the rebound and had 13 steals. Makiya Luetmer led Melrose with 13 points. She was the only on in double figure scoring, but Mia Meyer finished with nine. Holly Hellermann had 11 rebounds in the game. 
Fusion Swimming
The Fusion claimed the West Central Regional championship with topping Montevideo and Morris.  MSC took first in every swimming event except the 400FSR. During the meet the team set meet records in the in the 50FS (Kenny Warzecha), 100FLY (Warzecha) and in the 200MR (Isaac Schreiner, Dylan Fleischhacker, Warzecha and Spencer Van Beck)

Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Maci Blommel’s ability to get over BOLD defenders helped her score seven points and pull down rebounds in the Lady Dutchmen’s  56-48 win over BOLD Tuesday night. Makiya Luetmer led the team with 20 points Whitney Austing, working from the outside, scored 12 points.  Cassie Klaphake added nine more. Video can be seen at https://youtu.be/zAwSZD8yLWo.
Other Teams

The Fusion swimming and diving team also won topping Rocori 112-72. Other teams did not fare so well. The North Stars fell 6-1 in hockey and the SCM wrestlers were defeated 45-22 at Albany.

Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics
Kayla Austing captured the floor title and the Lady Dutchmen topped Perham 146.875-142.125 Thursday night. The meet was the last dual meet of the season for the Lady Dutchmen. Austing was also first on the vault and second in the all-around. Camryn Brinkman won the beam. Vidoe can be seen at https://youtu.be/nDd-kims68s
North Star Hockey
The North Stars posted a 7-4 win Thursday over Breckenridge/Wahpeton at Wahpeton, N.D. 
Dutchmen Basketball
Melrose stayed unbeaten with a 92-60 win over ACGC Thursday. The team had balanced scoring with six players  Brady Birch, Damon Van Beck, Dillon Haider, Jordan Klaphake, Justin Middendorf and Reegan Nelson, scoring in double figure.

Melrose Rosette
The Melrose Rosette dance team finish first in kick and jaz in both the varisyt and jav competition Monday at New London.
M-SC Fusion swimming
The Fusion captured eight first place finishes as they it topped Sauk Rapid-Rice 97-89 Tuesday evening.
The 200MR relay team of Isaac Schreiner, Dylan Fleischhacker, Kenny Warzecha and Spencer Van Beck, set the tone winning that reach. Three of those swimmers also won individual races. Fleischhacker-200IM, 100BT Warzecha-50FS, 100FLY, Schreiner-100FS, 100BK.  Van Beck was also a member of the first place 400FSR team. Others on the 400FSR were Nathan Douvier, Schreiner and Warzecha.
Prairie Centre North Stars
Prairie Centre exploded for four second period goals to win 8-4 Tuesday at Park Rapids. Noah Fletcher had a five goals. Also scoring Prairie Centre were Petr Erhart, Seth Deters and Brady Miller.
Lady Dutchmen Basketball
The Lady Dutchmen fell 48-45 Tuesday night at Brandon. Whitney Austing led the team with 16 point, Maci Blommel finished with 12 and Makiya Luetmer had 11.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Maci Blommel (21), Mia Meyer (back) and Whitney Austing (24 ) all successfully helped keep control of the ball for the Lady Dutchmen as they won 56-42 over Montevideo Friday Night. The win was their second in a row. Blommel finished with 12 points and Austing 11. Makiya Luetmer who had 29 in the win over BOLD on Tuesday. Finished with 15 points. Dutchmen Basketball
The Dutchmen survived a slow down strategy of Minnewaska to win 48-45 on Minnewaska on Friday. Dillon Haider, shooting from the outside dropped in16 points. Reegan Nelson, who had four of Melrose’s eight free throws, scored 16 points. Brady Birch added 10 more points. Melrose Area is now 16-0 on the year.
North Star Hockey
It was another 8-0 loss for the North Stars on Thursday. They fell to Detroit Lakes at Detroit Lakes. Goalie Jesson Gould had 31 saves. Prairie Centre had 11 shots on goal.
Saturday Competition
The Fusion competes in the True Team State Swim meet.
The Gymnasts compete in the True Team Gymnastics Meet.
The SCM wrestlers compete in the WCC meet.

The Rosettes Dance team competes in an invitational at Monticello.
