Trivia Question:

In baseball and softball retiring the all batters in a game with no one reaching base, is a perfect game. In bowling 300 is perfect score. What is a perfect score in cross-country.
Tough luck at home
St. John’s David Eichinger (32) and Melrose’s Brandon Montanez chased down a loose ball in the contest this afternoon at Melrose.
The Dutchmen soccer team applied pressure for almost the entire game, but failed to get the ball into the net falling 2-0 to St. John’s Prep this afternoon. Home field didn’t help much on the tennis courts either where the Lady Dutchmen were edged 7-0 by Osakis. In Montevideo, however, the volleyball team and one of its betters all-around nights posting a 3-1 to keep in top of the WCC standings.  More on the games will be in the Oct. 4 issue of the Melrose Beacon.
Melrose doubles players Allie Toenies (left) and Makayla Schleper found it tough going against their Osakis opponents.

Trivia Answer:  If a team takes the top five places in cross-country it earn a total of 15 points. That is considered a perfect score in that sport.
