DUTCHMEN FOOTBALL
Melrose moved 2-0 with a 33-26 win over Yellow Medicine East. 
Melrose, behind a 300  yard night from Zack Pierskalla took a 12-7 first quarter led. Pierskalla had runs of 64 and 38 yard in that quarter.
Melrose increased the lead to 25-7 seven in the second quarter as Pierskalla scored on runs of 35 and 64 yards. But the YME took the momentum and scored to cut the lead to 25-13. 
Melrose's defense stopped a scoring drive with an interception in the end zone as the half ended and led 27-13.  
YME kept coming back and took the lead at 2:58 in the third quarter at 26-25.  Melrose then regrouped and had a sustained drive to regain the lead. Pierskalla scored on four yard run for his fifth touchdown. Tyler Braegelmann scored on a PAT pass and Melrose led 33-26.
The game became a matter holding YME as the clock wound down. YME got to the Melrose 20 before their drive stalled and Melrose was able to run out the clock.
