Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion Swim and Dive
The MSC team will be competing in six events in the consolation round of the Class A State Tournament today.
Events they will be competing in are:
200 Medley Relay: Isaac Schreiner, Noah Glasener, Kenny Warzecha, Jake Enneking finished second in the consolation round and 10th in state.
100 Butterfly: Kenny Warzecha finished second in his heat and 10th in state.
100 Freestyle: Ben Heller finished fourth in his heat and 12th in state.
200 Freestyle Relay: Ben Heller, Noah Glasener, Jake Enneking, Kenny Warzecha finished 13th in standings, fifth in the consolation race.
100 Backstroke: Isaac Schreiner finished 13th in state and fifth in the consolation race.
400 Freestyle Relay: Jake Enneking, Kenny Warzecha, Isaac Schreiner, Ben Heller was third in the consolation and finished 11th in state.

Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion Swimming
The Fusion set two team records in the preliminary round of the State Class A meet today at the U of M Aquatic Center.The 200 Medley relay team of Isaac Schreiner, Noah Glasener, Kenny Warzecha and Jake Enneking now hold the team record in that event. The 400 Freestyle team of Enneking, Warzecha, Schreiner and Ben Heller now hold that team record. No Fusion team qualified for the championship round. It does have a competitors in six consolation heats. The Fusion 200 Medley Relay finished ninth. Kenny Warzecha qualified for the consolation heat of the 100 Butterfly. In the 100 Freestyle Ben Heller qualified for the consolation round. Isaac Schreiner did not qualify for competition in the 100 Freestyle on Saturday. The 200FSR team will compete in the consolation heat tomorrow. Isaac Schreiner will qualified for the consolation round of the 100 Backstroke.The 400 Freestyle Relay will also compete in the consolation round of the meet.  Ben Heller was disqualified in his 200 Freestyle Race.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball
The Melrose Lady Dutchmen played of their best games in the past few weeks, but fell 64-34 to Osakis Thursday, March 3.  The team concentrated on working the ball for an open shot and playing aggressive defense. While it never really overcame the 15-0 lead Osakis built, it did outscore the Silverstreaks 11-9 at the end of the first half. Maci Blommel led the team with nine points and Holly Hellermann contributed 11 more.  Melrose Area concluded it season with a 7-20 mark and graduates four seniors, Brooklyn Loxtercamp, Brittany Rademacher, Miriam Hernandez and Makayla Leraas. Dutchmen Basketball
The Dutchmen basketball team’s season ended in a 67-59 loss the Albany Huskies Wednesday, March 2 at Collegeville.  Melrose had a first half led of 33-32. Albany rallied in the second half to take a nine-point lead with eight minutes left. Melrose cut that down to three with four minutes left but came no closer. Dillon Haider had 23 points to lead Melrose. Drake Meyer added 11 more. Melrose finishes its season at 26-3. More information on the game will be in the May 9 issue of the Melrose Beacon.
