Lady Dutchmen Basketball
The Melrose Lady Dutchmen played
of their best games in the past few weeks, but fell 64-34 to
Osakis Thursday,
March 3.
The team concentrated on
working the ball for an open shot and playing aggressive defense. While it never
really overcame the 15-0 lead Osakis built, it did outscore the Silverstreaks
11-9 at the end of the first half. Maci Blommel led the team with nine points
and Holly Hellermann contributed 11 more.
Melrose Area concluded it season with a 7-20 mark and graduates four
seniors, Brooklyn Loxtercamp, Brittany Rademacher, Miriam Hernandez and Makayla
Leraas. More information on the game will appear in the March 9 issue of the Beacon.
