Melrose Dutchmen Basketball: Even with a strong second half, the Melrose Dutchmen fell 63-56 to LPGE in their first game of the year. Seth Noll (in photograph and top video) led Melrose with 19 points. His three-point shooting at the end of the half help Melrose get back into the game. Melrose trailed 31-28 at half. Noll had dropped in the final six Melrose points on three point shots. No other Dutchmen had more than eight points in the game. Blake Gerads (second video), who played strong game underneath and Tyler Braegelmann both scored eight point.

Melrose was within three points with 40 seconds left in the game. It was forced to foul allowing LPGE to built on its lead.

Prairie Centre North Stars: The North Stars fell 3-2 in overtime to River Lakes.
