A Week of Ups and Downs
Moises Romero (85) ran into a hole created by his line men
late in the Dutchmen's 41-7 loss to Pierz in the playoffs Saturday night.
Melrose's season ended with the loss. In the other Section 6AAA game New
London-Spicer defeated Albany 28-20. That loss to Pierz marked a week of ups
and downs for the Melrose Dutchmen and Lady Dutchmen had interesting contests the
past week.
The Lady Dutchmen volleyball team saw its season close in a
3-2 loss to Albany on Thursday Day.
Friday evening the swimmers set three conference records, and had
conference medal winners in all but one event, and finished second in the WCC
swim meet to Sauk Centre.
The cross-country team had some good runs, but no one
advanced to the state meet this year.
The football team topped Litchfield in a well-played game
