Melrose was too quick for Watertown-Mayer and posted an 85-64 win over the Royals in the Crusader Classic. Other first round winner were Braham-94 Concordia-60, Pierz-60 Litchfield-29, Cathedral-55 Mandan-49. Melrose had four players in double figures with Brady Birch leading the Dutchmen with 20 points. Dillon Haider had four of Melrose's eight three-point shots. Watertown-Mayer's Trae Berhow finished with 33 points, including some dunks. He passed the 1000 point mark in the game.
