MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL:Melrose fell 6-2 to Both Sauk Centre and BOLD this afternoon. Overall Melrose played well in the field and pitched well, but it did not get the key hit it needed. The defensive play of the day was made by second baseman Sandra Sprenger. Against BOLD she speared line drive to rob the batter to the hit, then threw to shortstop Justine Revermann, covering at third, to complete a double play. Sauk Centre defeated Melrose. Austing, Tschida (in video below), and Overman all doubled against Sauk Centre, but Melrose could not over come the 5-0 deficit it had spotted the Mainstreeters.  Against BOLD Melrose rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2 after four innings.  In the sixth inning, BOLD had six hits in to score four runs and take a four runs lead. Hellerman and Notch both doubled in the game and both drove in runs in the inning. Notch also pitched a complete game, without giving up a walk.  Against Sauk Centre Emily Revermann pitched a complex game and walked only one batter.  Kayla Austing finished the day with four hits, getting two in each game. Dana Overman had two hits in the game with Sauk Centre.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL:
