Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Maci Blommel kept her concentration on the basket as she scored 11 points in Melrose’s 50-39 victory over Pierz Saturday at Collegeville. Also reaching double figures was Cassie Klaphake with 21 points and Makiya Luetmer with 11 points. 
Dutchmen Basketball
Brady Birch (35) snare a pass on the run from Dillon Haider as Melrose defeated Braham 71-41 Saturday at Collegeville. The win was highlight by Haider scoring 20 points, including the 1000th of his career.  Birch finished with 10 points.  The Dutchmen allowed only 15 first half points. In the team’s Two good defensive games gave Melrose 83-49 win at Montevideo on Friday it allowed only 15 second half points. Haider led the team with 20 points Reegan Nelson had 12 and Jordan Klaphake 11.

Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics
Head Coach Katie Masog (left) led the cheers while assistant coach Jeremy Berscheit congratulated Greta Klaphake on her vault Thursday night. The Lady Dutchmen, led by all-around champion Kayla Austing topped LP-GE/B 145.65-127.675 at Melrose.  Mady Brinkman tied the record on the bars with a 9.8. Fusion Swimming
The Fusion also had a good night taking firsts in diving (Sam Heller), the 200IM (Dylan Fleischhacker), the 50 (Kenny Warzecha), 100 (Isaac Schreiner) and 500 (Spencer Van Beck) Freestyle races.
Lady Dutchmen Basketball
It was close, but Melrose fell 59-51 at Morris on Thursday.
North Stars Hockey
Litchfield made good use of its home ice to top the North Stars 10-1.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball
The Melrose Lady Dutchmen seniors were saluted before their game with Benson Friday night. The Lady Dutchmen posted a 53-40 win giving them three victories in a row. Cassie Klaphake, 16, Maci Blommel, 15, and Gabby Graves, 11, led the team in scoring.  The score was tied 25-25 at half time.
Prairie Centre Hockey
The North Stars fell 6-2 to Breckenridge/Wahpeton Friday. Hunter Fletcher scored twice for Prairie Centre.

Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion Swimming
The Fusion finished in third place at the Maroon and Gold Tiger Division Saturday at the UofM Aquatic Center, Minneapolis. Earning top three finishes were: Second Place: 100FS-Isaac Schreiner. 100FLY-Kenny Warzecha. 500FS-Spencer Van Beck. 200MR- Van Beck, Dylan Fleischhacker, Warzecha, Schreiner.  400FSR-Schreiner, Paul Pundsack, Van Beck, Warzecha.

Third Place: 100BK-Schreiner.

Dutchmen Basketball
It was a battle all game long for the ball between Sauk Centre’s Tanner Rieland (11), Isaiah Westby (21) and Cade Neubert (45) and Melrose’s Francisco Cervantes (24), Zac Van Beck (12) and Justin Middendorf.  The Dutchmen came out on top of a battle of WCC leaders with a 75-65 win. Melrose, now 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the West Central Conference defeated Sauk Centre (7-2 overall 1-1 WCC) at Melrose. Leading the way for the Dutchmen was Dillon Haider with 21 points. Brady Birch was close behind at 20 points. The score was 29-26 at half-time.
SCM Wrestling
It was a close thing for SCM tonight as it defeated Morris Area-Hancock/Chokio-Alberta 42-28, but fell 39-25 to Ottertail Central in the a second match. 
North Star Hockey
Prairie Centre played well, but fell 6-5 to Willmar. Petr Erhart had a hat trick and Hunter Fletcher scored twice. The North Stars fell 8-2 to Alexandria on Tuesday.  Goals by Cole Crosby and Noah Fletcher gave Prairie Centre an early 2-0 lead, but the Cardinals came back to win the game.
 Melrose Sauk Centre Fusion
The Fusion swimmers scoring a 112-73 win over Fergus Falls in the first meet after the Christmas break Tuesday night. Ken Warzecha took first in four events with as part of two relays and winning two individual races.  Dylan Fleischhacker, Isaac Schreiner and Spencer Van Beck all had three first place finishes. The Fusion compete in the Minneapolis Invite Saturday.
Melrose Rosettes
The Melrose Rosettes will compete in an invitational at Alexandria on Saturday.

Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics

The Lady Dutchmen gymnasts began post-Christmas competition  at Morris
