LADY DUTCHMEN SWIMMING

The Melrose Lady Dutchmen seniors were saluted following their 115-63 win over Montevideo this evening.  Melrose took first in most events, but swam the last two events as exhibitions. A video of the senior acknowledgement can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA88lIeoQ_E

MELROSE CROSS COUNTRY

The Dutchmen placed five members of the cross country team on to all-conference team. One Lady Dutchmen qualified for the honor. Melrose finished third as a team. Melrose girls finished fifth.  Individual results can be seen at http://melrosecrosscountry.weebly.com/conference-meet.html

LADY DUTCHMEN TENNIS

Elisha Engelmeyer was defeated in the two sets in the semi-final round of the individual playoffs.

LADY DUTCHMEN VOLLEYBALL

Melrose downed Minnewaska in three games and finished as co-champions in the WCCN. The team is in a tournament at Upsala Thursday. It faces BOLD co-champions of the WCC-S in the WCC North- South game next week.

LADY DUTCHMEN TENNIS
Elisha Engelmeyer advanced to the semi-final round of the Section 6A individual tennis match in the singles contest.. Her win the semi finals came over teammate Becky Klaphake who also won in the first round.  Engelmeyer was 2-0 in the tournament going into the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals both qualify for state. Klaphake was 1-1 in the contest.
In the doubles competition the team of Madison Worms and Mady Brinkman reached the quarterfinals but were defeated at that point. They finished 1-1 in the contest.
Haley Hoppe/Katie Schulzetenberg, playing their first contest as a doubles team, fell in the first round and finished 0-1 in the tournament.

Lady Dutchmen Swimming
The Melrose Lady Dutchmen will be competing in the State True team meet Wednesday, Oct. 15. Melrose earned second place in the Section 6A True team meet, but was invited as an at large team because it earned 1800 points.  Sartell-St. Stephen had 2029 points.
Melrose medalled in the following events.

Melrose Dutchmen Football
Defeated Sauk Centre 41-27 tonight at Sauk Centre.
If Melrose wins on Wednesday, is should earn the second seed in the upcoming playoffs.
Zack Pierskalla scored four touchdowns in the game.

LADY DUTCHMEN VOLLEYBALL

Melrose moved into a tie for first place in the West Central Conference-North with a 3-0 win over Montevideo.  Melrose is now 11-1 in the WCC-N and tied with Sauk Centre. Game scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-21. Video scenes from the game can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C36c0hb-oq4

MELROSE CROSS COUNTRY

Both the Dutchmen and Lady Dutchmen cross country teams finished in seventh place this afternoon at Albany.  Brian Thielen was the top finisher for the Dutchmen.. He finished in 30th place. Ashley Herdering was the Lady Dutchmen top finisher in the girls race. She took 21st place.

LADY DUTCHMEN TENNIS

Osakis defeated Melrose 4-3 in the playoff semi-finals and ended Melrose's team season
Osakis the first four contests winning at  three singles and four singles and  two and three doubles   Melrose won the number one and  two singles and doubles contests.
Earlier Minnewaska topped Sauk Centre in the semi finals. Osakis and Minnewaska played for the section championship.

Lady Dutchmen Tennis

Melrose defeated Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area 5-2 in the Region 6A team tennis tournament. Melrose plays in the semi-finals tomorrow. The doubles teams swept their competition.

LADY DUTCHMEN VOLLEYBALL
Sauk Centre defeated Melrose in three games. Scores were 25-19, 25-22, 25-19. Sauk Centre leads in WCC-N north standing.  It is 11-1 and Melrose is 10-1
LADY DUTCHMEN SWIMMING
The swimmers and divers topped Sauk Centre 110-71 this evening.  The divers snared the to three positions. They also had the top three spots in the 200FS and had the top three times in the 400FSR. Rachael Kulzer set the Sauk Centre pool record in the 200FS, Gabi Sawyer in the 100FLY and Stefanie Rasmussen in the 500FS.
MELROSE SOCCER
The Melrose soccer programs, which currently play as clubs, will be a Minnesota State High School League sport next year.  They will play in the Granite Ridge Conference.
