Dutchmen Soccer

Melrose-2 Rocori-2

The Dutchmen soccer team played its first home game of ever and finished with a 2-2 tie with Rocori.

Melrose tied the score a 1-1 in the final two minutes of the first half. It the took a 2-1 lead a penalty kick. The team held the lead until late in the game when Rocori put in a penalty kick.

Melrose pressed the attack in the first overtime, but in the second Rocori kept the ball in the Melrose end before time ran out

Lady Dutchmen Soccer

The Melrose Lady Dutchmen scored a 7-2 victory over Rocori at Cold Spring this afternoon. It was the first game ever for the Lady Dutchmen score program. Melrose scored six goals in the second period. Video clip of the game can be seen at  http://youtu.be/pOhcmpcmKvU
Melrose Cross Country
The Dutchmen finished fifth out of nine teams at the Central Minnesota River Run this afternoon in Staples. Nathan Budde finished 16th the top finish of any Dutchmen The Lady Dutchmen earned a seventh place finish out of 10 teams. Ashley Herdering's 12th place finish was the best of any Lady Dutchmen.
