Dutchmen Soccer

Melrose-2 Rocori-2

The Dutchmen soccer team played its first home game of ever and finished with a 2-2 tie with Rocori.

Melrose tied the score a 1-1 in the final two minutes of the first half. It the took a 2-1 lead a penalty kick. The team held the lead until late in the game when Rocori put in a penalty kick.

Melrose pressed the attack in the first overtime, but in the second Rocori kept the ball in the Melrose end before time ran out

Lady Dutchmen Soccer

The Melrose Lady Dutchmen scored a 7-2 victory over Rocori at Cold Spring this afternoon. It was the first game ever for the Lady Dutchmen score program. Melrose scored six goals in the second period. Video clip of the game can be seen at  http://youtu.be/pOhcmpcmKvU
Melrose Cross Country
The Dutchmen finished fifth out of nine teams at the Central Minnesota River Run this afternoon in Staples. Nathan Budde finished 16th the top finish of any Dutchmen The Lady Dutchmen earned a seventh place finish out of 10 teams. Ashley Herdering's 12th place finish was the best of any Lady Dutchmen.

Dutchmen Football

The Dutchmen moved to 2-0 in the year topping Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 43-24. Zack Pierskalla finished at 232 yards with three touchdown. Mason Wenker must missed running 100 yards. Drake Meyer had a 95-yard interception return. Video can be seen a http://youtu.be/khvN-6Xy3h0

Lady Dutchmen Swimming

The Lady Dutchmen won the Willmar Invite taking first place in the 50FS, 100 backstroke and 400 freestyle relay.

Lady Dutchmen Tennis

The  Melrose Lady Dutchmen tennis team remained unbeaten with a 4-3 win over Becker this afternoon in Melrose. The team rallied after Becker won the number one and number two singles matches. Video of the match can be seen at http://youtu.be/BSy7UsEXsE8

The Dutchmen soccer team fell 4-3 at Little Falls this afternoon.

Lady Dutchmen Tennis

The Melrose Lady Dutchmen tennis team ran reached the 4-0 mark with two wins yesterday in the Melrose Triangular.

The team topped Little Falls 7-0, and defeat Park Rapids 6-1 in the contests. The team is action Thursday hosting  Becker.

Thursday also marks the first varsity soccer game for the Dutchmen as they travel to Little Falls

Dutchmen Football

The Melrose Dutchmen started their season with a 36-15 win over Sauk Centre this evening.

Led by a 170+yard,  four-touchdown night from Zack  Pierskalla, Melrose dominated the game from the second quarter on. More information can be found in the Aug. 26 issue of the Melrose Beacon.
