MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL: The Dutchmen fell 5-2 to Benson this afternoon. Pitching for the Dutchmen were Cole Van Beck and Austin Schoenberg. Schoenberg was charged with the loss. Melrose had five hits in the game with Schoenberg and Adam Austing hitting doubles. Austing also had two walks in the game.
Melrose rallied twice in the game. The Van Beck's fourth inning single scored Colton Meyer with to tie the game at one. In the fifth inning Schoenberg reached on a fielder's choice that scored Austing to cut Benson's lead to 3-2.
Melrose plays tomorrow at Morris.
