The Dutchmen's defense, as played by Mitch Niehaus and Ryan Elfering in the photo to the right, set up quick scoring chances and Melrose capitalize winning 72-36 at Paynesville. Scottie Stone (seen with a steal and score in the video below) had 33 points and Mitch Reller added 10 points. Melrose trailed 14-10 at one point in the game.

MELROSE-SAUK CENTRE FUSION SWIMMING AND DIVING
The Fusion topped Willmar 106-80 at Willmar. The Junior Varsity won 88-74. See the Jan. 9 issue of the Beacon for more information.
