Dutchmen Basketball

Dillon Haider’s drives to basket and his passing helped Melrose to a 69-52 win over Minnewaska last night.  Francisco Cervantes and Justin Middendorf had 13 points to lead Melrose. Zac Van Beck added another 10 points. 

SCM Wrestling

Roberto Raya pin in the 220 match clinched the wrestling match of SCM last night in Melrose. Antonio Ortiz and Larazo Garcia also  had pins in the match.

Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion

The Fusion swim team fell 107-77 at Alexandria this evening. Kenny Warzecha took first in the 50FS, 100FLY and Isaac Schreiner was first in the 100BACK. The 400FSR team also claimed first.

Prairie Center North Stars

Fell 7-1 to Little Falls on Tuesday. Isaac Cebulla scored the North Star goal.

Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling

Luke Glasener kept on control of his opponent and SC-M controlled most of the matches the it defeated both Holdingford (57-24) and Osakis (43-27) last night in the Osakis Triangular Friday..  SC-M had 10 pins on the night. Bryce Stalboerger had two pins on the night as SCM moved to 3-1 in dual meet this year. Read Chas Lawingers report on the triangular in the Dec. 14 issue of the Melrose Beacon.

Dutchmen Basketball

The Melrose Dutchmen moved to 2-0 on the year with a 74-50 win over BOLD at Olivia last night.

The Dutchmen had 19 points from Dillon Haider. Two others also scored in double digits.  Melrose’s defense created 10 steals in the game.

Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling

The Sauk Centre-Melrose finished 1-1 at the BOLD triangular Thursday.  SCM topped BOLD 53-18, but fell 49-19 to Pipestone.  Larazo Garcia, 106, and Bryce Stalboerger, 182, both went unbeaten on the night. SCM had six pins in the matches.

Fusion Swimming

Sartell-St. Stephen show why they are among the better teams in the state posting a 113-68 win over the Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion last night.

Fusion has some respectable times in the races but never had the best time in any race. Kenny Warzecha, 200FS, Leo Braun, diving, Isaac Schreiner, 100FS, and backstroke, earned runners’ up finishes.   Dylan Fleischhacker (100 breaststroke) and the 400FS relay did take firsts, but Sartell-St. Stephen swam them as exhibitions.

Dutchmen Basketball

Caldin Rieland passed off to Traeton Kaeveny was the Dutchmen picked up the pace of its offense late in the 63-41 win over Sartell-Stephen tonight. The Dutchmen were led by Dillon Haider’s 19 points. Twenty Dutchmen played in the game with nine of the scoring and six hitting three-point shots. SCM Wrestling

SC-M won it first dual contest of the season defeating ACGC 32-27.  Carlos Sanchez 15-7  win at 170 clinched the match for the team.   Other wins came from Antonio Ortiz (120), Jordan Winter (138), Bradley Hellermann (145), Luke Glasener (152) and Tylar Ritcher (160).

Lady Dutchmen Basketball

The Lady  Dutchmen got into the win column with a 58-38 win over Paynesville.

Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling

Jordan Winter overturned his opponent to earn a 4-3 win the championship of the 132 division as SCM finished fourth as a team at its own invitational Friday in Melrose. The team had  four in the championship round with Jordan Winter taking a championship.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball

 The Lady Dutchmen fell 44-36 to LPGE on Friday.

Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics

The glory the Lady Dutchmen’s past could be seen on the banners and future gymnasts watched Kayla Austing’s first place floor routine Thursday night at Melrose. The Lady Dutchmen won the meet scoring 143.975 and taking the top  two events in every routine. More information will be in the Dec. 7  issue of the Melrose Beacon.

Lady Dutchmen Basketball

Makiya Luetmer let fly for a field goal attempt in Melrose’s 64-23 loss to BBE tonight in Melrose. The Lady Dutchmen never got untracked after BBE jumped to a 14-4 lead.  Luetmer finished with two points in the game. Ashley Rademacher came off the bench to score seven for the Lady Dutchmen.
