MELROSE DUTCHMEN BOYS BASKETBALL:
The Dutchmen (19-9) defeated Sauk Centre to win the Section 6AA-North Championship.
Seth Noll, Tyler Braegelmann named to all tournament team. Melrose faces NL-S (18-10) Friday at 6 p.m. in St. Cloud.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BOYS BASKETBALL:
The Dutchmen defeated LP-GE 56-38. Seth Noll  had 30 points in the win.  Melrose will face Sauk Centre Tuesday night at St. John's University.

MELROSE-SAUK CENTRE FUSION SWIMMING:

Justine Hoppe finished 15th the 200FS consolation heat today.
The 200FSR and 400FSR relay teams of Matt Beste, Justin Hoppe, Ben Heller, Brent Blommel both earned 14th in the consolation round.

SAUK CENTRE-MELROSE WRESTLING

The Sauk Centre-Melrose wresltling season ended whenWill Funk and Arturo Stefanoni both fell in the state wrestlebacks.

Funk finished 1-2 and Stefanoni 0-2.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL:

The Lady  Dutchmen closed out their regular season with a 59-54 wino over Southwest Christian.,

The begins post season play Thursday at Holdingford. More information will be in the March 5 issue of the Melrose Beacon.

Friday, Feb. 28, 2014-Swimming

MELROSE-SAUK CENTRE FUSION SWIMMING:

Justine Hoppe qualified for the consolation heat of the state tournament this afternoon.

Also reaching the consolation head were the 200FSR and 400FRS teams. They are composed of 

Matt Beste, Justin Hoppe, Ben Heller, Brent Blommel.

Others swimming in the state preliminaries were:

John Schwieters: 200IM and 200BK

Ben Heller and Justine Hoppe in the 500FS. 

Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014-Boys Basketball

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL:

A strong second half enabled Melrose to rally from a nine point deficit and defeat Holdingford 59-42 in the first round of the 6AA-North playoffs.  Melrose next plays Saturday at St. Johns.  Check the March 5 issue of the Beacon for more information.
