MELROSE GIRLS BASKETBALL:  The Melrose Lady Dutchmen (above) claimed first place in the red division of the Upsala Tournament. Melrose defeated Kimball 42-35 in the championship. The Lady Dutchmen next play Jan 3 at BOLD.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL:  Melrose defeated Litchfield 47-45 in to take the consolation championship of the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusader Christmas Classic Tournament. Seth Noll (in purple right photo) was named to the all-tournament team.  The Dutchmen's next game is Jan. 3 when it hosts BOLD

MELROSE GIRLS BASKETBALL:  Melrose defeated Mora 49-35 in the semi-finals of their tournament game at Upsala.  The team plays tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in Upsala. Justine Revermann (photo) finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Jordon  Thompson (video below) played a strong game under the basket.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL: Melrose defeated Mandan, N.D.  58-52 in the consolation semi-finals the St. Cloud Crusader Christmas Classic.  Melrose plays Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the consolation championship.
MELROSE-SAUK CENTRE FUSION SWIMMING: The Fusion finished second in the Brainerd Tournament.
PRAIRIE CENTRE NORTH STARS HOCKEY: The Prairie Centre North Stars posted a 5-2 over Minnehaha Academy. They are the champions of the tournament.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL: The Dutchmen fell 67-64 to St. Cloud Cathedral in the quarter finals of the St.  Cloud Cathedral basketball  tournament.
PRAIRIE CENTRE NORTH STARS: The North Stars posted a 5-0 over Fairmont in the Minnehaha Tournament today.

 MELROSE BOYS'BASKETBALL: The Dutchmen downed Osakis 73-29 in front of alumni from the 1970-75 state teams.  Melrose lead 49-8 at half time. Tyler Braegelmann (left) score 13 points and Ben Klaphake (right) added 12 points
MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN GYMNASTICS: Melrose finished second at the Brainerd Invite.

Besides district and regional trophies won by the Dutchmen from 1970-74 the team also claimed an overall championship trophy (1974), Class A trophies (1971 and 1974), runner-up trophies (1972 and 73) and consolation trophy (1970).

MELROSE BOYS BASKETBALL: The Dutchmen posted a 64-63 win at Montevideo.
PRAIRIE CENTRE HOCKEY: The North Stars posted 6-2 win over Morris Benson. Cody Stewart had a hat trick. Then North Stars are now 6-2 on the year.
MELROSE-SAUK CENTRE FUSIONS: The Fusion moved to 3-0 on the year with a 96-90 win over Dassel-Cokato.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL: The Lady Dutchmen basketball team fell 56-51 to Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta tonight in Melrose. Melrose had a half-time lead of 24-23, but Morris went some strong runs to take the lead. With 2:30 left Morris had an 11-point lead. Melrose, forced turnovers and converted shots to cut the lead to three with 12 seconds left.  Forced to foul, Melrose saw  Morris hit one free throw, to take a four point lead. Morris then capitalized after a Melrose turn over for the final score.
Emily Goerdt scored 19 points for Melrose and Gabi Sawyer added 15 points.
MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN GYMNASTICS: The Melrose gymnasts topped Morris 146.6-105.9.  The Lady Dutchmen claimed the top five spots on bars, beam and floor the top four on the vault and the top three in the all-around.  All-around champion Jailyn Brinkman also finished first in all routines. Lydia Butkowski tied her for first on the floor.  Earning runner-up spots were vault-Kayla  Austing, bars-Butkowski, beam-Abby Hinnenkamp and all-around-Butkowski. Mady Brinkman was third in the all-around.
MELROSE SAUK CENTRE FUSION SWIMMING: The Fusion posted an 89-73 win over Alexandria this evening. A first place finish by Matthew Beste, Justin Hoppe, Ben Heller and Brent Blommel, and a third place finish by Isaac Beste, Ted Uphus, Jake Enneking and Isaac Schreiner in the 400FSR clinched the match.
PRAIRIE CENTRE HOCKEY: Prairie Centre Hockey defeated Redwood Valley 8-2
SAUK CENTRE-MELROSE WRESTLING: SC-M fell 39-31 to Paynesville and 42-24 to Quad City. Antonio Ortiz (106), Will Funk (132), and Charlie Barhorst (HWT) all won two matches this evening.

PRAIRIE CENTER NORTH STARS HOCKEY: Prairie Centre defeated Bagley-Fosston 6-1 at Bagley.  Scoring for Prairie Centre were: Jeremy Brever, Zack Pierskalla, Noah Schmidt, Alexsi Runola-2, and Kristian Laaksonen.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN BASKETBALL: The  Lady  Dutchmen fell to 1-2 after a 70-29 loss to Sauk Centre this evening. The Lady Dutchmen were led by Emily Goerdt who had 12 points. Sauk Centre’s experience and depth showed in the game as it had 10 players scoring.  Melrose is in action next on Tuesday evening hosting Morris.
MELROSE ROSETTES DANCE TEAM: The Rosettes finished seventh in the varsity high kick, sixth in the jazz, and fourth in the junior varsity division.
SAUK CENTRE-MELROSE WRESTLING: SC-M defeated Osakis 39-33 and Prairie  Valley 57-16, but fell 38-36 to Holdingford this evening.
