Dutchmen Basketball

The Melrose Dutchmen Basketball stayed unbeaten at home as it topped Sartell-St. Stephen 58-57 in overtime. Tyler Braegelmann and Drake Meyer  both had 15 points in the game, but it was Blake Gerads with the winning basket.  Sartell had led 53-47 with less than two minutes in regulation and at 57-56 late in the overtime. Lady Dutchmen Basketball
Melrose came up short 50-49 at Atwater this evening. Emily Goerdt had 20 points for Melrose.
Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion
The Fusion had nine first place finshes and dominated 200 Free , 200IM and 100 Breaststroke races. It also won all relays as it took first at the Brainerd Invite.

Melrose Dutchmen Basketball
The Dutchmen, led by 14 points from Tyler Braegelmann defeated Montevideo 58-47 this evening in Melrose. The game was close in the first half, then Melrose took control to post the win.  Drake Meyer, who had 11 points, scored all of them in the second half.
Melrose Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics



















Lydia Butkowski, competing the last home meet of her career, won the all-around title as Melrose hit it best score of the year 149.05 in a meet with Paynseville. Butkowski also won the floor routine and tied with Kayla Austing, winner of the beam, for the vault title. Mady Brinkman won the bars.
Melrose Lady Dutchmen Basketball
The Lady Dutchmen fell 43-42 at Brandon-Evansville. Jordan Thompson had 15 points and Emily Goerdt  10.
Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling
SCM was defeated 35-29 by St. Cloud Tech.

Melrose Dutchmen Basketball
Paced by double digit nights from Cesar Cervantes, Tyler Braegelmann and Drake Meyer, the Dutchmen topped Minnewaska 74-44 to move to 16-2 on the year.  Melrose again shared the ball and finished with 28 assists.

Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling

The Sauk Centre-Melrose wrestling team split in a double dual this evening. The team topped OTC with a pin the last match, but struggled against Albany. A video clip of some matches can be found a http://youtu.be/uUH4B-psL-A
 
Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion Swimming

Sartell-St. Stephen defeated the Fusion 115-71 tonight at Melrose. MSC did win the  200FS, diving, 100FLY and 500FS races.
















Prairie Centre North Stars
The North Stars fell 8-0 to Park Rapids at Park Rapids tonight. Prairie Centre is now 4-16 on the year.

Lady Dutchmen Gymnastics
The Lady Dutchmen hosted 10 of the best gymnastics team in the state and finished in second place this afternoon at the state true team competition. The ten are invited to the contest based on their scores. Video of some events can be seen at http://youtu.be/mx_a_l3gcOc

The Fusion finished eighth in the true team competition this afternoon in Minneapolis.
Sauk Centre Melrose Wrestling
The Sauk Centre-Melrose wrestlers earned fifth place in the WCC meet this afternoon.   Earning top three medals were:
First-Will Funk, 145
Runners-Antonio Ortiz-106
Third-Jordan Winter-113, Jimmy Thomas-285

Lady Dutchmen Basketball


 After playing in a tight first half (14-13) the Lady Dutchmen were outscored 15-0 early in the second half and fell 44-31 to Paynesville this evening. Emily Goerdt had 11 points for Melrose. Video clips are found at http://youtu.be/dqMxMmXJ1is

Melrose was outscored in both halves and fell 70-55 to St. Cloud Cathedral tonight in St. Cloud. Cesar Cervantes, Isaac Herkenhoff and Blake Gerads had 11 points each for Melrose.
