Melrose Lady Dutchmen Basketball

The Lady Dutchmen rallied for a 31-30 win over Kimball to take first place in the red division of the Upsala Cardinal Classic.  See video highlights at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_rTpXwHa_M

 
Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion
For the first time in over 20 years, the M-SC Fusion won the Brainerd Invitational. M-SC earned 651 points in the meet.
Melrose Dutchmen Basketball
Melrose jumped to a early lead 13-0 lead then pretty much kept that distance as it advanced to 9-0 with a 77-60 win over Concordia Academy this evening in the Crusader Classic. Melrose plays for the championship Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Melrose topped ACGC 58-25 in the semi-final round of the Red Bracket of the Upsala Tournaament
Melrose plays in the championship of the Red braced 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday
Melrose Dutchmen
The Dutchmen won in the quarterfinal round of the St. Cloud Crusade Tournament defeating Mandan, ND 80-61.  Melrose plays at 5:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Cathedral in the semi-finals.

Doubleheader win for Melrose Basketball  

 The Melrose Dutchmen and Lady Dutchmen both posted wins tonight in games at Melrose.
The Lady Dutchmen staged a late game rally to defeat Morris 52-49. The Dutchmen built a strong early lead and held on to win 68-59 over Morris. M-SC Fusion
The Fusion won a triangular meet at Morris this evening. M-SC finished first in almost every event and scored a 163 at the meet.

Record Setter
Every point senior Emily Goerdt  (receiving a hug) now scores for the Lady Dutchmen is a new Melrose record. Goerdt surpassed the Lady Dutchmen career mark of 1077 that has stood since Jan (Niehaus) Herke graduated in 1986. Unbeaten Dutchmen
The Melrose Dutchmen rallied late in the game to top Litchfield 54-50 at Litchfield. The win gives Melrose a 5-0 mark on the year.
North Star Victory
The Prairie Centre North Star Hockey team topped Redwood Valley at Sauk Centre this evening. it wa their first win of the year.
Gymnasts stay above 140.
The Lady Dutchmen gymnasts over came a few injuries to post a 141.625 win at Morris this evening.  Melrose is unbeaten in dual meet competition.
Melrose-Sauk Centre Fusion
The swim team posted another dual meet win topping Alexandria 103-83 at Alexandria. The team capped the evening finishing 1-2 in the 400FSR Race.
Double header
It wil be a double header basketball night at Melrose this Friday. The Lady Dutchmen face Morris at 6 p.m. and the Dutchmen face Morris at about 7:30 p.m.

FANTASTIC FRIDAY

Melrose sports teams had one of their best Fridays in recent memory as report after report of games and matches showed Melrose winning.

The Sauk Centre-Melrose wrestling team, started the evening winning all three matches at the Holdingford triangular. SC-M posted wins of 57-18 over Prairie Valley, 35-33 over Holdingford and 40-32 over Osakis.
The Dutchmen basketball down WCC, and neighor, rival Sauk Centre 67-53 to stay unbeaten on the year. The Lady Dutchmen gymanstics team posted their best mark of the year, 146, in a match with Perham. The Lady Dutchmen basketball team downed Benson 61-42 at Benson.

The Prairie Centre North Stars Hockey team fell 10-1 at Litchfield.
