MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
The Dutchmen defeated Staples-Motley 3-1 at Staples in the first round of the Section 6AA-West playoffs.
Mitch Reller (left)allowed only four base runners, two hits and two walks, while striking out nine batters.  Alex Welle, Trevor Sawyer and Austin Van Beck scored runs for Melrose. Tanner Klaphake had two hits, one a double, and drove in the three Melrose runs.

MEROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
The Melrose Dutchmen posted an 11-4 win over Sauk Centre at Sauk Centre.
Tanner Klaphake was 2-3 with two RBI and Mitch Reller earned the win.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN GOLF
Wes Dickhaus both shot under 40 as Melrose finished second in a WCC-N match at New London. Dickhaus earned medalist honors and Brady Schulzetenberg was runner-up.

Hailey Brinkman claimed top honors in the long jump hitting 16-6 .
Melrose finished first in the girls standings and fifth the boys standings. The photo at the right is the girls' team.

Michaela Worms' sixth inning single broke up a no-hit and perfect game bid at Albany.
Melrose had only one hit in the 5-0 loss to the Huskies.

Melrose fell 5-0 to Albany at Melrose. Alex Welle was 2-3 in the game with a bunt single for the Dutchmen.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN GOLF
Kate Maus shot a 48 to lead Melrose in a WCC-N match at Melrose.
MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
Nikki Zierden was 2-2 driving in a run, hitting a triple and stealing a base in the 3-1 loss at Osakis.
Jenna Orth 1-3, had two steals. Sydney Petermeier was charged with the loss.

The Dutchmen defeated Minnewaska 6-0 at Melrose.
Melrose's Ty Reller threw a shutout to get the win he had 13 strikeouts.
Alex and Andrew Welle had two hits for Melrose.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN AND LADY TRACK AND FIELD
Melrose's boys 4X800 relay team set the school record at 8:56.14.
Hailey Brinkman won the girls triple jump and long jump and Morgan Kingston won the high jump.

Andrea Warzecha had two home runs in the 13-3 loss to Minnewaska.

Melrose shot a 168 to win the Melrose Invitational. Brady Schulzetenberg was medalist with a 39.

Andrew Welle (center of left photograph) scored three runs for Melrose. Catcher Trevor Sawyer blocked the plate to prevent a 12th inning run by Paynesville.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
The Dutchmen fell 8-5 in 14 innings to Paynesville.
Melrose was led by Andrew Welle who had four hits, with a double, and scored three runs.
Paynesville's Jason Kampsen struck out 14 in an eight inning relief effort.
The game was part of Ken Picha Appreciation day. The video is the when he we was presented his award of appreciation.

Melrose finished first in a WCC meet at Melrose. BradySchulzentenberg scored a 35 for medalist honors.

The Lady Dutchmen  finished sixth, the Dutchmen finished 10th.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
The Lady Dutchmen rallied to defeat LP-GE 14-11 at Long Prairie. A
Led by a 4-for-5 day from Andrea Warzecha was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple.
Melrose had 16 hits in the game. More details in the May 9 issue of  the Beacon.
MELROSE TRACK AND FIELD
The Boys and Girls teams finished in second place in the quad at Melrose.
Hailey Brinkman was first in the long jump, triple jump and 300 hurdles. Mitch Niehaus won the boys 100. the boys 4X800 relay finished first. Morgan Kingston won the girls high jump, Caleb Thompson won the boys high jump and Kingston also won the 100 hurdles.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN GOLF
The Melrose Girls finished sixth in a West Central Conference meet at Albany. Melrose shot 283 on the year.
