MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
Sauk Centre defeated Melrose 8-3 at Melrose.
Austin Van Beck and Tanner Klaphake each had two hits in the game.
Melrose turned three double plays. One of them (below) ended with the second baseman Isaac Sawyer tagging out the Sauk Centre base runner.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
Home runs by Grace Brang and Justine Revermann helped Melrose to a 9-3 over Sauk Centre at Sauk Centre. Sydney Petermeier allowed only four hits in the complete game win.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN AND LADY DUTCHMEN TRACK AND FIELD
Hailey Brinkman was first in the long jump (15-9.5), triple jump (35-7) and first in the 200 (26.69) as the Melrose girls finished in fifth place. The boys finished third at 86.5

Little Falls topped Melrose 5-0. Justine Revermann (right) played well in the field and had two hits.

Austin Van Beck (left) threw a three-hit 5-0 shutout for the Dutchmen. He also drove in a run and started two rallies. Alex Welle had two hits for Melrose.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
The Lady Dutchmen were patient and had 25 walks in the game.  Nicole Welle drew a bases loaded walk to force in the game winning run in the eight inning.

Holdingford defeated Melrose 14-5. Eight Melrose players had hits in the game.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL The Lady Dutchmen were patient and had 25 walks in the game. Nicole Welle drew a bases loaded walk to force in the game winning run in the eight inning. Jenna Orth tags out baserunner.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
Melrose rallied for a 9-5 win over Albany to get into the win column. A five-run rally on rbi singles by Isaac Sawyer, Jacob Hinnenkamp and Alex Welle helped the Dutchmen over come a 5-4 deficit in the fifth inning.
Bryan Springer hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning.  Mitch Reller earned the win.
LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
Albany defeated Melrose 11-6 at Melrose. Melrose had eight hits in the game with Sydney Petermeier going 2-4 and Andrea Warzecha going 2-3.  Petemeier was charged with the loss.
DUTCHMEN GOLF
Melrose finished 13 in the Alexandria Invitationa. Wes Dickhaus led Melrose with an 86. The medalist score with 71.

MELROSE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Melrose fell 8-5 to Minnewaska at Glenwood. The Dutchmen, behind a two-hit games from Austin Van Beck, Trevor Sawyer and Alex Welle, led 4-3 late in the game, but could not hold the lead.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
Minnewaska pounded out a 15-5 win over Melrose at Melrose. Andrea Warzecha was 3-4, Cecilia Montanez had a two-run single.
MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN GOLF
Melrose finished sixth with a 246 score at Paynesville.

The Dutchmen finished second and the Lady Dutchmen four at the Melrose Earlybird.
Hailey Brinkman won the long and triple jump. Morgan Kingston won the high jump. Kingston also competed in 110 hurdles race (see video below).
In the boy's contest Garrett Hoeschen won the 800.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
Melrose downed New London-Spicer 14-4 in four innings.
Nikki Zierden's (left) 4-4 day at the plate led Melrose.  Zierden, Andrea Warzecha and Cecilia Montanez all doubled in the game. Jenna Orth and Justine Revermann tripled. Orth also homored.
Warzecha, the winning pitcher, struck out six.

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
The Melrose Dutchmen baseball team fell 6-5 as Holdingford rallied for a seventh inning comeback. Andrew Welle and Trevor Sawyer both had two hits for Melrose. Ty Reller was charged with the loss.

Shortstop Tanner Klaphake forced out a Holdingford baserunner at second base.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL
The Lady Dutchmen pitchers had problems with control and Sauk Centre drew 20 walks in a 27-6 Mainstreeter win at Melrose.
Nikki Zierden's and Cecilia Montanez both were 2-3 on the day. Zierden had an RBI double in the first inning. She also scored two runs in the game. Her second run came on Montanez' three-run home run.
Pitcher Andrea Warzecha fiield a ground ball and threw to first for a putout.








MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
Melrose fell 10-0 in a non-conference game today. Tanner Klaphake's single was the only hit for Melrose in the game.
MELROSE DUTCHMEN LADY DUTCHMEN TRACK AND FIELD

The Melrose  track teams came home with seven first place medals today. Earning the medals were: 
Hailey Brinkman, first in the 200, long and triple jump; Morgan Kingston in the high jump, and Mitch Niehaus in the shot put. The girls 4X200 team of Kingston, Lydia Butkowski, Alyssa Beuning and Brinkman claimed first as did the boys 4X100 team of Niehaus, 
Genry Middendorf, Mitchel Niehaus, Saulo Ortiz and Gavin Sand

MELROSE DUTCHMEN BASEBALL
The Melrose Dutchmen (0-1) fell 2-1 in their season opener to the Upsala/Swanville Patriots at Upsala this afternoon.
The Patriots took the early lead scoring on a single by Alex Griffith and double by Colton Kruzel in the fourth inning.
Melrose's Trevor Sawyer, who was attempting to steal third, kept going after Mitch Reller singled to tie the game in the sixth inning. U/SA came back to win as Kruzel scored on a single by Andy Nelson.
Tanner Klaphake, Reller, Austin Van Beck, Tyler Engelmeyer and Jacob Hinnenkamp all singled for Melrose in the game.
Reller was charged with the loss.

MELROSE LADY DUTCHMEN SOFTBALL

The Melrose Lady Dutchmen Softball team posted a 17-12 win at Foley this afternoon. Melrose lead 17-8 going into the seventh inning. It was the Lady Dutchmen's first win since April 27, 2010 when they defeated Milaca 4-3.  Andrea Warzecha homered in the game and Nikki Zierden had an RBI triple.  Syndey Petermeier was the losing pitcher.
